<p>Online sexual abuse and exploitation of children in Thailand is underreported, with only&nbsp;1- 3% of children disclosing experience told the police, according to a research delivered by&nbsp;<a data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://ecpat.org/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1645513181190000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2FooyJ-7eabo5W6ZntU3kS" href="https://ecpat.org/" target="_blank">ECPAT</a>,&nbsp;<a data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.interpol.int/en&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1645513181190000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0OiHQ7qKKZNOsHYAtInMSx" href="https://www.interpol.int/en" target="_blank">I</a>NTERPOL, and the&nbsp;<a data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.unicef-irc.org/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1645513181190000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1CVDQU4hvi4nReVbRVjh54" href="https://www.unicef-irc.org/" target="_blank">UNICEF Office of Research</a>.</p>
<p>Human rights advocates have called for the prosecution of police officers, public servants, and others accused of buying sex from underage prostitutes in northern Thailand.</p> <p>On 16 November 2017, Ticha na Nakorn, the director of Baan Kanjanapisek Juvenile Vocational Training Centre, Supensri Pungkoksung, Director of the Gender Equality Promotion Centre and the One Stop Crisis Centre, and representatives of other human rights advocacy groups submitted a letter to Khemchai Chutiwongse, the new Attorney General.</p>
<p>A Thai maths teacher has boasted proudly of humiliating students by shaving some of their hair. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>On 18 May 2017, a maths teacher of Hua Phluang Community School in Tha Tako District of Nakhon Sawan Province whose Facebook account name is ‘<a href="https://www.facebook.com/worawut.sirithum.7/posts/294885237634926?pnref=story">Worawut Sirithum</a>’, posted a set of photos of schoolchildren with their heads shaved unevenly.</p> <p>“For those who asked for it, I have delivered,” reads the caption of the post.</p>
<p dir="ltr">A Buddhist monk in Isan, Thailand’s northeast, has confessed to the rape and murder of a six-year-old boy. &nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">On 11 October 2016, the police of Mancha Khiri District in the Isan province of Khon Kaen, told media that Niran Chonyuth,<a href="https://www.khaosod.co.th/featured/news_45274"> a 36-year-old Buddhist monk</a> from Sawang Kongkaram Temple, had confessed to the rape and murder of a six-year-old boy referred to as ‘Oat’.</p>
