An ultra-royalist group has launched a political cyber bullying campaign and legal charges against a red shirt activist. The campaign against her has led to her employer firing her on Monday.  

On Monday, the female red-shirt activist who identifies herself on Facebook as Tananun Buranasiri, posted that she was fired by her employer, a shopping mall, because some people informed her employer that she allegedly posted comments against the monarchy on Facebook. This was after the ultra-royalist Rubbish Collection Organisation launched online and offline bullying campaigns against her. Her personal information was also exposed.

Tananun has been very active in criticizing the anti-democratic establishment since before the 2006 coup. She criticized the anti-establishment on small red-shirt stages, along with posting fierce comments on her Facebook page.

According to the Facebook page of the Rubbish Collection Organisation, an ultra-royalist group, the group will file a complaint under Article 112 of the Criminal Code, the lèse majesté law, against the anti-establishment red shirt activist at the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) in Lak Si District, northern Bangkok, on Tuesday at 10 am.

The campaign to file a lèse majesté complaint against her was launched by the ultra-royalist group on Monday.

After the threat was launched on the group’s Facebook page, a royalist posted personal information about her workplace, her husband and children on Facebook, leading to her dismissal.      

Other royalists made harsh comments against her on the page. One of the royalists wrote on her Facebook profile “If you are not satisfied [with the social and political situation in Thailand] why don’t you just move to Cambodia. If people like you live in Thailand it would only make this land heavier, so just get out.”

Another royalist wrote “You b**ch, you made complaints against the monarchy; do you know how hard the King works for all the Thai people?”
