For four years, children in a kindergarten in the northeastern province of Khon Kaen have been ordered to wear military uniforms once a week. A teacher claims that the uniforms help disciplining the students.

On Friday, 27 May 2016, Workpoint TV reported that the kindergarten students of Dun Sat Community School, Kranuan District, Khon Kaen Province, wear soldiers’ uniforms every Thursday.

Arun Phosi, the kindergarten’s head teacher, told the media that the uniforms are part of the school’s ‘Little Soldiers of Princess Mother’ project, which aims to teach students discipline and educate them about the contribution of the late Princess Srinagarindra, King Bhumibol's mother.

Arun added that the school has implemented the project for four years and both students and parents have cooperated well with the school’s policy.

Apart from wearing uniforms, the students are lectured every Thursday morning about self-discipline and collect trash, Arun told Workpoint TV.
