Hospital bomb suspect arrested

On 15 June 2017, a 62-year-old man was arrested in Bangkok and detained at the 11th Military Circle. He is suspected of being involved in last month’s bombing at the Army’s Phramongkutklao Hospital.

The authorities searched the suspect’s house and found materials such as plastic tubes, wires, circuits and nails. The investigation will continue since the authorities believe that there are others involved in the bombing.

The blast went off on 22 May 2017. It remains unconfirmed whether the timing was intended to protest the third anniversary of the junta’s coup.
