Different from the anti-coup movement in May and June, the latest anti-coup wave is from frustration than reaction. The frustration mainly comes from the junta's strict censorship policy which applies equally to all groups -- even on people who originally supported the coup.

Five police officers have been demoted because they failed to prevent anti-coup Khon Kaen student activists from humiliating Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, the head of the junta, during his speech in Khon Kaen last week. According to Matichon, Police Maj Gen Bunlert Jaipradit, chief of Provincial Police Region 4, on Sunday transferred the five police officers from Khon Kaen Police Station to the Region Four Police Operations Centre.

The military summoned Loei anti-mine village activists about links with five anti-junta Khon Kaen students arrested earlier this week while some soldiers allegedly plan to enter the mining area in conflict to transport ore deposits.

Five Dao Din students reported that they are still being followed and monitored by the military after their release on Thursday. After the release on Thursday of the five Dao Din student activists arrested for making three-fingered salutes in front of Prayut Chan-o-cha in Khon Kaen, the group stated on Facebook on Saturday afternoon that the military are still trying to keep an eye the group’s members and activities.

The military at 10 am on Thursday released the five student activists from Khon Kaen University with no charge.    Since Wednesday the military has tried to force the group to sign a document stating that they admit their wrongdoing in protesting against the coup and promising not to hold any further political activities, according to Jatupat Boonpattararaksa, a fifth year law student who is one of the five.    On Thursday two students complied while three others refused to sign the document.

After five student activists from Khon Kaen University were arrested on Wednesday morning for flashing a three-fingered salute, a group of 11 student activists from Bangkok’s Thammasat University organized a supper at the Democracy Monument to show support for their fellow student activists, which led to their arrest late on Wednesday night.    After they were detained for about four hours, the police released them before midnight without charge.

Update: At around 1:30pm, the police arrested Natchacha Kongudom, a Bangkok University student at Siam Paragon's cinema, after she raised three fingered salute in front of the Hunger Game 3 poster when she received a free ticket from the LLTD.

Prachatai interviewed one of the five student activist, on their goal of holding the activity, experience in the camp and will he 'surrender' this morning. If he does not admit of his 'guilt' for protesting against the coup, he may be fired from university.

Update: At around 6.30 pm, the military released the five activists but demanded them to come back with their parents and will officially charged them on Thursday. During the interogation, the military pressured the students to sign a document, stating that they will not hold any anti-coup activity nor expressing disaproval on the coup again.

A countrywide network of young activists denounced the entire coup apparatus and announced that they will not join the junta’s reform.

  The military on Friday summoned student activists from Khon Kaen University, in northeastern Khon Kaen Province, to have them sign an agreement to stop anti-coup activities.    In the North East, the junta has kept a close watch on universities, such as Maha Sarakham and Ubon Ratchathani.
