The military on Friday filed a police complaint against a man for posting lèse majesté messages on Facebook, Matichon Online reported.
Lt Col Burin Thongprapai of the military’s Judge Advocate General’s Office on Friday accused Jatsadakorn D., 24, of violating Article 112 of the Criminal Code or the lèse majesté law. He also submitted images and screen captures of the alleged lèse majesté content.
Burin said on 3 December he was alerted by military officers that a Facebook profile under the name “Jatsadakorn D.” (full surname) posted messages and images which allegedly defame the King.
The military officers raided the suspect’s house in Nakhon Pathom but did not find the suspect and they believe the suspect has fled, Matichon said.
Matichon Online noted that the suspect has been in contact with Thai political refugees overseas and helped some of them flee the country.
